US Demands El Chapo Forfeit $12.7 Billion In Drug Money

Prosecutors on Friday said they were seeking $12.7 billion from convicted Mexican drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, based on a conservative estimate of revenues from his cartel's drug sales in the United States. According to a motion filed by US Attorney Richard Donoghue, authorities are "entitled to forfeiture of all property that constitutes or is derived from the defendant's narcotics-related crimes."
64-year-old Pak woman released from Amritsar jail after 12 years

Eight months after two Pakistani sisters were released after serving 10 years in a local jail for drug trafficking, their 64-year-old accomplice, Nasreen Akhtar, was also freed from jail and handed over to Pakistan on Tuesday. The five Pakistani's were sentenced to ten years in jail and fined 4 lakh each. They were unable to pay the fine and their jail terms were extended.
