Mumbai woman conned by KBC officer over Rs 35 lakh lottery win

A Mumbai woman has approached police claiming she was conned of Rs 83,000 by unidentified caller/s who said she had won a Rs 35 lakh lottery, an official said on Monday. Ameerunnissa Abdul Kalam Sheikh (25), a Kandivali resident, told police she got calls from numbers that flashed as 'KBC officer' and 'Government of India' on her cellphone, he said.

Sitting councillor of the Jaipur-Municipal-Corporation (JMC) has fallen victim to crime. The man paid a whopping Rs 2.25 crore for a piece of land and learned recently that the deal was fake as the same land had already been sold to another party. The man has registered a case in Sadar police station and the cops have initiated an investigation into the matter.

An auditor from Kerala has been arrested by the Kerala Police for duping Qatars Museum Authority of Rs.5.2 crore by faking the email ID of a member of the Royal Family of Qatar. As per a report, the 47-year-old accused, Sunil Menon had worked in several Gulf countries, including Qatar, for a period of around 15 years before he pulled this heist.
