Tyson cuts profit forecast, says slaughterhouse fire among challenges

Tyson Foods Inc lowered its 2019 adjusted earnings forecast on Tuesday, citing a litany of causes including a recent fire at its Holcomb slaughterhouse and volatility in the commodity market. The fire resulted in an unforeseen shutdown at the slaughterhouse in Kansas last month, likely curtailing Tyson's meat processing operations. However, Tyson said its outlook for fiscal-2020 remains positive as it expects more favorable-market-conditions.

Stop it with all the talk about Netflix losing subscribers from the oncoming deluge of streaming services. Netflix says you're focusing on the wrong thing. It's not Disney's new streaming video service or HBO or Amazon that Netflix is worried about, the company said today in its letter to shareholders. Netflix estimates it has already earned about 10% of all U.S. television screen time.

Airline stocks crater after Delta issues slightly lower revenue growth outlook

Shares of U.S. airlines tumbled Thursday after Delta Air Lines forecast slightly lower revenue growth, following downbeat sales projections from iPhone-maker Apple that stoked concerns of global slowdown. Delta shares fell nearly 9 percent, their steepest percentage decline in more than six years, to close at $45.61. American Airlines shed more than 7 percent, recovering slightly after hitting its lowest price since July 2016.
