
I-League to start from November 30, official broadcaster yet to be confirmed

The fresh season of the I-League, which has officially been pushed below cash-rich Indian Super League (ISL), will begin from November 30 but the All India Football Federation (AIFF) is yet to confirm the broadcaster for the upcoming edition. Some of the prominent teams playing I-League are defending champions Chennai City, Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan, East Bengal along with Real Kashmir FC.

Bitter foes Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will look to close in the gap on top of the table when they cross swords in the I-Leagues first derby clash in Kolkata on Sunday. Both the teams have nine points each but East Bengal are ahead in the standings, occupying the sixth place, compared to Mohun Bagan's eighth.

East-Bengal suffered a heartbreak in their homecoming as Chennai City FC secured a 2-1 victory to consolidate their lead in the I-League in Kolkata. Chennai's Spanish recruit Sandro Rodriquez Felipe (45+2nd) drew first-blood before Enrique Esqueda drew level seven minutes after the changeover. Chennai's other Spaniard Nestor Gordillo scored the winner, converting from the spot in 87th-minute to halt East Bengal's two-match winning run.
