Tesla electric car catches fire after hitting a tow truck in Moscow

A Tesla electric-car caught fire after crashing into a tow truck on a Moscow motorway late on Saturday. Footage of the incident on state TV channel Rossiya 24 showed the car by the side of the road engulfed in flames and thick black smoke. Two small explosions occurred within a few seconds of each other. The accident took place at around 2100 Moscow time.
BMW and Jaguar Land Rover to jointly develop electric car components

Tata Motors owned British carmaker JLR and German carmaker BMW announced intentions of collaborating to develop next-generation electric vehicle technology. "Jaguar Land Rover and BMW Group today confirmed they are joining forces to develop next generation EDUs in a move that will support the advancement of electrification technologies, central part of the automotive industry's transition to an ACES future," JLR said in a release.
Dutchman Ends "World's Longest Electric Car Trip" In Australia

A Dutchman completed an epic 95,000-kilometre(59,000-mile) journey by electric car in Sydney in a bid to prove the viability of such vehicles in tackling climate-change. Wiebe Wakker drove his retrofitted station wagon nicknamed "The Blue-Bandit" across 33-countries in what he said was the world's longest-ever journey by electric-car. Before the car was modified, it would have used 6,785-litres of petrol to complete the journey.
