Maharashtra plans free power for those who consume up to 100 units

Maharashtra-power-minister Nitin Raut announced that state is looking to give free-electricity to residential users whose monthly-consumption is upto 100-units. However, experts warn that move would be death knell for industries in the state. "We have asked our department to look into whether the scheme can be implemented. The department will be submitting a report within the next three-months," said Raut while speaking to media-persons.
Indian Railways to run 100% on electricity by 2024: Piyush Goyal

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said the entire rail network in India will run 100% on electricity by 2024. Speaking at the India-Brazil Business Forum, Goyal added, "It will be the first railway in the entire world, of this scale and size, to be run on electricity." There are plans to make Indian Railways a zero-emission network by 2030, Goyal added.
