Delay Results But Count 50% of VVPAT Slips, Opposition Parties Tell Top Court

The opposition-parties have told SC that if election results got delayed due to counting of VVPAT slips of 50% of 13.5L EVMs, it will still help ensure the sanctity of a free and fair contest. The parties filed their official response in court in a reply to the EC affidavit, which claimed that there is a possibility of delay by an average of six-days.

Nationalist Congress Party or NCP leader Dhananjay Munde has demanded a probe either by the R&AW or a Supreme Court judge into the death of his uncle and former union minister Gopinath Munde after a cyber expert claimed that the BJP leader was "killed" as he was aware of hacking of electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
