Crashed Ethiopian Plane's Black Boxes To Be Analysed Abroad

The Ethiopian Airlines pilot whose jet crashed killing 157 people had reported flight-control problems, the company said as it prepared to send the black boxes to Europe from a disaster that has rocked the global airline industry. The still unexplained crash, just after take-off from Addis Ababa, followed another disaster involving a Boeing 737 MAX in Indonesia five months ago that killed 189 people.

A prize-winning author, a football official and a team of humanitarian workers were among those who perished in the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 320, government officials and employers said on Monday. Sunday's crash, minutes after take-off from Addis Ababa for a flight to Nairobi, inflicted a particularly heavy toll on the United Nations, which has large offices in both cities.
