Lion Air crash renews concerns about Indonesia airlines

The deadly crash of a Lion Air jet in the Java Sea has renewed questions about the safety of Indonesian airlines, not long after US and European regulators removed prohibitions against them. The surge has been particularly keen at Asia's budget airlines such as Lion Air, whose Flight 610 disappeared into the sea shortly after takeoff from Jakarta.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is considering a European Union proposal that would keep Britain bound to the blocs rules for more than two years after Brexit. At present, the two sides say Britain will remain subject to the blocs rules from Brexit day on March 29 until December 2020, to give time for new trade relations to be set up.
