Debt-Ridden Gujarat Businessman Arrested For Printing Fake Notes

A Rajkot resident was on Saturday arrested after a raid by personnel of the Gujarat police's Special Operations Group at his house for allegedly printing currency notes, an official said. Sixty fake currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000 denominations, having a face value of Rs. 75,000, were seized in the raid near the Laxman Jhoola Park area in Rajkot, he said.

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team has busted an interstate Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) gang and arrested two people responsible for wide circulation of fake currency notes in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Based on a reliable input an operation was launched at Gurugram in Haryana resulting into the seizure of fake Indian currency notes with a face value of Rs. 1.20 crore.

The Gurgaon police Wednesday arrested two-persons with fake currency notes worth Rs. 1.20 crore, a police spokesperson said. Gurgaon Police PRO Subhash Bokan said Wasim (20) and Kasim (44), both residents of Newat district, were arrested by a joint team of NIA and the Gurgaon Police from Sohna road. Fake Rs. 2,000 currency notes totaling Rs. 1.20 crores were recovered from them, he said.
