Maharashtra Approves Rs 500 Per Quintal Subsidy For Paddy Farmers

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has approved a proposal to give a subsidy of Rs 500 per quintal (100 kg) to paddy cultivators. According to an official statement on Tuesday, the central government has decided the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy, but there has been a rise in input cost of the key kharif crop.
Rs 3,795 Crore-Package For Farmers Hit By Heavy Rain In Gujarat

The Gujarat-government announced a financial-package of Rs.3,795-crore for farmers whose crop was damaged by rains during the 36-day period in the months of October and November. The package will cover over 56-lakh farmers. Farmers in areas where rains were recorded in the excess of 100-mm between the October 15-November 20 period will get the compensation at Rs.6800 per hectare-up to two-hectares, Mr Patel said.
