World Cup 2018: Fifa warns broadcasters about focusing on women

FIFA has asked broadcasters to stop cameramen from zooming in on "hot women" in the stands at major tournaments, including the ongoing 2018 FIFA World Cup, in order to curb sexism in football. FIFA's diversity boss said the crackdown is not yet an official policy but will be "a normal evolution" and "one of the activities definitely in future".
Body of Messi fan who jumped into river after Croatia loss, found

Two days after he jumped into a river apparently upset over Argentina’s defeat in a league match in the football World Cup, the body of Lionel Messi fan Dinu Alex was fished out from the bulging Meenchal river by police and fire-personnel. A search was on for Alex for the last two days and the Kottayam district administration was planning to approach the navy.

As the month-long FIFA World cup moves towards knock out round in Russia, TV makers here in India such as Sony, LG, Samsung, Micromax and Intex are witnessing a spike in sales, with soccer fans buying new sets or upgrading to large screens to have a better feel of live matches. To attract soccer fans, TV makers have launched new large screen size models.
