Mumbai: Airlines waive cancellation fee for flights

In the wake of record rainfall in Mumbai, airlines started offering waiver on cancellation, rescheduling charges for flights to and from Mumbai. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city witnessed the highest rainfall in 14 years 375.2 mm (14.8 inches) since the July 26, 2005, deluge. Low-cost carrier SpiceJet has announced complete waiver on cancellation and date change fees till July 3.
New rules bar fee for cancelling air tickets

Flyers can now cancel air-tickets or change-bookings for free within a day of making the reservation if the travel date is atleast a week away, as-per-a government charter of passenger rights released on Wednesday. The charter, announced by civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu after nine-months of consultation with airlines, provides flyers with a slew of rights by getting airlines to improve their customer service.
Airspace North Of Delhi Vacated; Srinagar, Amritsar Among 8 Airports Shut

The order to shut down nine-airports over the northern states of Jammua and Kashmir, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh has been withdrawn. Flight operations have already resumed from some airports, including Jammu. A spokesperson of Directorate General of Civil Aviation told news agency PTI, "As of now, ops to these airports resumed (sic)." Commercial flights to Jammu, Srinagar and Leh have been put on hold.
