BJP chief Amit Shah targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for being on "holiday" during assembly elections and asked him to make his stand clear on the centre's decision to end special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing an election rally in Haryana, Mr Shah slammed the Congress for "dynastic rule". Mr Shah said dynastic parties such as the Congress were "termites" that weaken democracy.

Haryana's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anurag Aggarwal on Wednesday said after the enforcement of "Model Code of Conduct", the ruling party or its candidates will not have control over any government houses. The state has a total of about 19,500 polling stations in 10,309 locations. It goes to polls on October 21. The counting of votes will take place on October 24.
83% Sitting Haryana MLAs Are Crorepatis: Report

Over 80% of sitting MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) in Haryana are crorepatis, according to an analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). The ADR report also said that 75 out of the 90 sitting MLAs in Haryana possess assets worth more than one crore rupees. According tp the ADR report, the average of assets per sitting MLA in Haryana was Rs.12.97 crore.
