Heavy Rainfall In Tamil Nadu, Puducherry Today, Predicts Weather Office

Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in north interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Telangana and Maharashtra today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The weather office also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and south Konkan and Goa. The IMD advised fishermen not to venture into these areas for the next few days.

Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh To Receive Heavy Rains: Weather Office

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over parts of Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh, as predicted by India Meteorological Department (IMD). Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Marathwada and Odisha are also predicted to receive heavy downpour today, the weather department said. Parts of Jharkhand is likely to witness thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, the IMD said. Squally weather is likely to prevail over north Maharashtra coast.

Over 60,000 People Affected By Sri Lanka Flash Floods

Over 60,000 people have been affected by flash floods and heavy winds in Sri Lanka's northern part after days of heavy rains,the officials said on Monday. Out of those affected, over 11,000 people were evacuated to safe locations as their homes were inundated due to continuous rains, Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Centre was cited as saying by Xinhua news agency.
