Jammu and Kashmir highway reopened after remaining closed for 4 days

The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was reopened for traffic on Monday, four days after landslides and snowfall at several places led to its closure that leftover 4,000 vehicles stranded, officials said. "Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been thrown open for traffic at 1000 hours after the muck left behind by the landslides and snowfall was cleared off," an official of the Traffic Control Room said.
500-tonne waste to help build 100km of highways by October-end

At least 500 tons of single use plastic, particularly waste polythene, will be used in building nearly 100 km of highways by October-end, a top NHAI official said. To achieve this, the government's highway building agency has, for the first time, taken the 'risk performance' of roads which will be built using plastic on itself rather than holding the contractor responsible for poor performance.
Mumbai-Goa highway closed for traffic due to landslide

Mumbai-Goa national highway in Maharashtra was closed for traffic following a landslide caused by rainfall near Mauje Dhamandevi village in Raigarh. The landslide occurred in the wee hours of Saturday. The road-clearing operation is underway by the police and administration. Meanwhile, the IMD predicted "heavy to very heavy" rainfall at few-places for the next few days in Konkan and other parts of south Maharashtra.
