"No Decision To Prepare NRC On National Level": Government To Parliament

There are no plans for now to conduct a nationwide NRC exercise, the government said in parliament today. "Till now, the government has not taken any decision to prepare National Register of Indian Citizens at the national level," Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, said in a written reply. PM Narendra Modi had earlier said there had been no discussions on nationwide NRC.

Scam Calls: Paytm Payments Bank submits list of 3,500 phone numbers to MHA, others

Paytm Payments Bank (PPB) on Friday said it has submitted to the home ministry, Trai and CERT-In a list of 3,500 phone numbers used to make scam calls to dupe consumers in the country. PPB claimed that it has also filed an FIR against these people with Cyber Cell for an immediate action to stop this scam.

Home Ministry Asks NIA To Initiate Probe Into Arrested J&K Cop Davinder Singh

The Union home ministry has asked the NIA to initiate the process of probing the case of suspended Jammu and Kashmir Police deputy superintendent Davinder Singh, who was caught in south Kashmir while allegedly ferrying two terrorists to Jammu last weekend, officials said. Necessary formalities are being completed in Jammu as well as in Delhi before the probe agency takes over the case.
