Over 2,400 IAS, IPS posts vacant: Government

Over 2,400 posts of IAS and IPS officers are lying vacant in the country, the Union government said today. As many as 1,449 IAS posts or 22.11% of the sanctioned strength of 6,553 are vacant. There are 970 vacancies in the IPS or 19.64% of the total 4,940 posts, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra-Singh said in a written reply to the Rajya-Sabha.
