Cyclone Pawan Near African Coast To Bring Rain In Gujarat, Fishermen Warned

Parts of Gujarat will receive unseasonal rain on Saturday due to the cyclonic storm "Pawan" over the south-west Arabian Sea near the African coast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday. The IMD, therefore, advised fishermen in the state to refrain from venturing into the area for the next two days.

Winter Season To Be Warmer Than Normal: Weather Department

With rising global temperatures and keeping with forecasts of past three years, the IMD said this year's winter season from December to February will be warmer than average. In its winter forecast released on Friday, the IMD said, "DJF(December, January, February) season average minimum temperatures are likely to be warmer than average over most parts of the country except over northernmost parts of India."

Severe Cyclone Maha To Cross Gujarat Coast Today: Weather Officials

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday announced cyclone alert for the Gujarat coast and a yellow message as Cyclone Maha is expected to make landfall on the coast between Devbhumi-Dwarka district and Diu on Thursday. The cyclone Maha is very likely to intensify into a deep depression during the next 12 hours and into a Cyclonic Storm during the subsequent 24 hours.
