Air Force Plane's Additional Fuel Tank Falls Mid Air In Tamil Nadu

An Air Force jet dropped its 1,200-litre external fuel-tank over farm land near Coimbatore while flying a routine "sortie" at around 8.40 am today morning. The plane, a Tejas LCA, managed to land safely at Sulur Air Force-Station, which is located approximately 30 kilometres from Coimbatore city. Fire was reported from where the fuel tank fell to the ground, causing a three-foot deep crater.

Bad Weather Makes It Difficult To Airlift Bodies From An-32 Crash Site

Rescue teams are working to airlift the bodies of the 13 Air Force personnel who died when their plane crashed in a remote, hilly area in Arunachal Pradesh two weeks ago. Bad weather and rough terrain are making the operation to airlift the bodies difficult, officials said. The IAF's mountaineers, men from the Army's special forces and local climbers are at the crash site.

India inks Rs 300-crore deal to buy more 'Balakot' bombs

The Indian Air Force reportedly signed a Rs.300 crore deal with Israel for around 100 Spice-2000 bombs, the weapon used during the February 26 air strikes in Pakistan's Balakot. The bombs would reportedly be delivered to the Air Force in the next three months. This is reportedly the first defence deal to be inked by the new government.
