Rupee sheds 61 paise against dollar in opening trade

The Indian rupee has recovered from the low but still trading lower by 35-paise at 73.68/dollar amid huge selling seen in the domestic equity market. Rupee opened lower by 61-paise at 73.94/dollar versus previous close 73.33. It touched an intraday low of 74.08/dollar. The Sensex was down 1,233.25-points or 3.21% at 37237.36, while Nifty was down 372.90-points or 3.31% at 10896.10.

Rupee opens lower at 71.43 per dollar

The Indian rupee has erased some of its morning losses but still trading lower at 71.42/dollar, with flat trading seen in the domestic-equity-market. It opened lower by 7-paise at 71.43/dollar against Friday's close of 71.36. On Friday, the Indian-rupee ended lower at 71.36 against the US dollar tracking heavy selling in domestic-equities and strengthening of the American currency in the overseas market.

Rupee opens flat at 71.13 per dollar

The Indian rupee has recovered from the day's low and trading marginally lower at 71.15 per dollar, with domestic equity market ended flat in today's trading session. It opened flat at 71.13 per dollar against previous close 71.12. On Friday, the rupee ended 9 paise lower at 71.12 against the US amid a steady rise in crude oil-prices and strengthening of the greenback overseas.
