News Broadcasters Association's Board Members Meet Prakash Javadekar

The board members of the News Broadcasters Association met Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar in Delhi and discussed several "important -issues" concerning the news-industry. The meeting was "extremely positive on a number of key matters", including new-technologies in broadcasting, a statement released by the NBA said. The delegation was led by Rajat Sharma of India TV, who is the president of the board.
EC seeks I&B report on launch of NaMo TV

The Election Commission of India has written to the information and broadcasting ministry, seeking a report on the sudden launch of NaMo TV, just days ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The commission has also written separately to Doordarshan seeking to ascertain how the national broadcaster ran an hour-long live broadcast of PM Modi's public address 'mein bhi chowkidaar' on March 31.
I&B announces 25% hike in print media advertisements

The Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry increased the rates at which the government releases advertisements to the print media by 25%. "The decision will be of great benefit especially to the medium and small newspapers including a large number of such papers in regional and vernacular languages," the ministry said. The rates were last revised in 2013.
