North Korean still working at main nuclear site, IAEA says

North Korea appears to be still expanding operations at its main nuclear site, the U.N. atomic watchdog indicated on Thursday. The statement by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency is a further sign that North Korea is pressing ahead with its atomic activities despite pressure from the United States for it to scrap its nuclear weapons programme.

Niti Aayog plans policy for coal self-sufficiency

Niti Aayog plans to come-out with a policy prescription on how India should meet its demand for coal in domestic-power and non-power sectors to cut-imports of the fossil fuel over the next 10-years. The government's policy thinktank has invited bids for research/ study on linking coal production and consumption requirements in country based on which the Aayog is expected to draft a comprehensive policy.

India needs to spend around USD 4.5 trillion till 2040 to develop infrastructure in order to improve economic activity, Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said. Addressing an event, Mr Kant further said, "In India we start the project without adequate preparation. We must learn the art of perfection from Japan where not a single thing changes when they start any project."
