Internet services snapped in Kashmir after rumours surrounding Geelani's health

Mobile internet services have been suspended in Kashmir to prevent rumours about the health of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, officials said on Thursday. The services were snapped late Wednesday night after some social media posts claimed the health of the 90-year-old Geelani deteriorated, they said. Geelani's family said he has has been ill for some time but his condition is stable.

Authorities snapped mobile internet services in Kashmir as a precautionary measure to prevent any law and order disturbance on the 26th death anniversary of JKLF-founder Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, officials said. Mobile internet services were suspended early in the morning as the authorities apprehended violence in the Valley in view of a bandh call given by separatist outfits to mark Bhat's death anniversary, they said.
Hundreds of Amazon employees risk firing to protest the company's climate policies

More than 340 Amazon employees are protesting the company's external communications policy. The employees signed onto a Medium post published Sunday by advocacy group Amazon Employees for Climate Justice. It includes signatures and quotes from Amazon employees, all of which are named, across several divisions of the company. Amazon said it encourages employees to engage with teams inside the company on issues like sustainability.
