India's heaviest satellite GSAT-11 launched successfully

Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO's GSAT-11 satellite also called the "Big Bird " was successfully launched into space today from the French space port of Kourou in South America. The satellite, launched at 2.07 am(IST), will help provide satellite-based internet to remote-places where cable-based internet cannot reach. The satellite, weighing 5,854-kg, is the heaviest Indian-made equipment that the agency put into its orbit.

ISRO launches Indian earth-mapping and 30 other satellites

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Thursday successfully launched India's Hyperspectral Imaging Satellite (HySIS) along with 30 micro and nanosatellites of eight other countries after a 16-hour countdown. HySIS will help in monitoring pollution from industries, according to ISRO. It will also have other applications in agriculture, forestry, geology, coastal zone study and inland water studies.

ISRO To Launch India's HysIS Satellite With 30 Foreign Satellites

ISRO is all set to launch its workhorse rocket PSLV-C43 carrying India's earth observation satellite HysIS and 30 co-passenger satellites, including 23 from the US, from Sriharikota on November-29. The space agency said the 45th flight of PSLV will be launched from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota. HysIS is an earth observation satellite developed by ISRO.
