First Batch Of Pilgrims Leave For Amarnath From Jammu

A first batch of Amarnath Yatris on Sunday left Jammu for the Kashmir Valley, to begin this year's annual Hindu pilgrimage to the Himalayan cave shrine. The 45-day long Amarnath Yatra will officially commence from Monday and conclude on August 15 coinciding with the Shravan Purnima festival. Extraordinary security arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth, violence-free Amarnath Yatra this year.
Curfew lifted in Jammu, normal life resumes

Authorities lifted day curfew in Jammu, facilitating resumption of normal activities in city that saw massive-protests following the Pulwama-terror-attack. Markets reopened and public transport was back on roads. Schools also reopened after week-long closure due to curfew and restrictions. Jammu District Magistrate Ramesh Kumar issued two orders announcing relaxation of curfew in all areas of Jammu district from 7am to 6pm for 11 hours.
