Jammu & Kashmir students in UoH reject govt's Eid lunch invitation

Days after the Jammu and Kashmir Governor reportedly sanctioned Rs 1 lakh each to designated liaison officers for organising Eid festivities for Kashmiri students who are studying in other states, students from University of Hyderabad have expressed their dismay and rejected the government's invitation to lunch. TNM has contacted university authorities to know if the Eid lunch programme will be held or stand cancelled.
Man Allegedly Kills Grandparents In Jammu And Kashmir's Kathua

A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly murdering his grandparents in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district Saturday, police said. Sahil went to the room of his grandparents, identified as Chand Kumar(82) and his wife Sanjogta(75), and allegedly hit them with a blunt object, killing both on the spot, they said. He was arrested after a search operation was launched to arrest him, police added.
Jamaat-e-Islami Workers' Properties Sealed By Authorities In Kashmir

Days after the centre banned Jamaat-e-Islami J&K (JeI), houses of dozens-of-workers and leaders of group have been sealed by authorities at several-locations across the Kashmir valley. Magistrates issued orders of sealing all institutions and properties linked to the JeI. The home ministry, on Thursday, had declared JeI an unlawful organisation for five-years, and over 200 of its workers were arrested in last four days.
