13% Polling Observed In Jammu Lok Sabha Seat Till 9 AM

The Jammu Lok Sabha constituency recorded 13% polling till 9-am on Thursday, election officials said. Voting began peacefully in the Jammu Lok Sabha constituency at 7-am, with voters in Samba, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch turning upto exercise their franchise early morning, they said. Samba registered 16.52% polling, followed by 14.12% in Jammu district, 11.88% in Rajouri district and 12.98% in Poonch district, they said.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday hit out at the bureaucracy in the state, accusing them of scuttling democracy by not allowing assembly elections in the state. "One day we will talk about the cabal of officers in J&K who for their own selfish reasons have taken it upon themselves to scuttle democracy in the state," Omar Abdullah tweeted.
