Siddaramaiah compares JDS workers to prostitutes

Stirring-up a controversy, former-Karnataka-CM Siddaramaiah has compared JD United-workers to prostitutes when he was questioned on the collapse of the JDS-Congress-government in the state. A reporter had asked the former-CM his reaction to JDS workers blaming him for the collapse. The CM retorted using a slightly changed version of a Kannada proverb, "A prostitute who can't dance says the floor isn't right to dance."

After the coalition government collapsed in Karnataka, JD(S) chief and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda reacted to the whole incident and said he had never seen in his life the type of horse-trading that allowed by the BJP leadership. "The way in which a national party, BJP leadership allowed this type of horse-trading, I have never seen in my life," said Deve Gowda.

The Congress and Janata Dal Secular have been holding a series of meetings since morning to consider the possibility of saving the government after a tumultuous Saturday, which saw the resignation of 11 legislators from Karnataka's ruling coalition. The Congress's state in charge, KC Venugopal, has come to Bengaluru and met state party leaders at a private hotel.
