Arrested cop Davindra Singh will be treated as terrorist: IGP J&K Police

The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police on Sunday confirmed the arrest of a deputy superintendent of J&K Police along with two Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba militants in south Kashmir. Addressing a press conference on the arrest of the senior cop, IGP J&K Police Vijay Kumar said the arrested cop would be treated and investigated as a terrorist.

While people in the Kashmir Valley, who have supported the government's decision to withdraw the special status of J&K, may not have openly spoken in the favour of the government in last one-month, they do hope for equal opportunities and an end to "separatists' blackmail" in the coming days. Two-members of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community were abducted and killed by the terrorists in August 2019.
BJP calls J&K core group to Delhi for urgent meeting

Even as the media was agog over the deployment of additional forces in the Valley, the BJP has called the members of its core-group in Jammu & Kashmir for an urgent meeting in the national capital on Tuesday. Interestingly, the timing of the meeting hasnt been conveyed so all the members would be arriving in Delhi on Monday itself, to be available when required.
