Vice Chancellor Was JNU Attack "Mastermind", Sack Him: Congress Report

A Congress fact-finding committee that inquired into the mob-violence at JNU on January-5 has singled-out Vice-Chancellor Jagadeesh M Kumar as the "mastermind" behind the attack and called for his immediate dismissal. The party has also demanded a "criminal-investigation" against Mr Kumar and others for "conspiring with the attackers to unleash the violence" and that Delhi-Police be held accountable for their conduct during the attack.

JNU protests: Delhi Police registers FIR day after clash with students

The Delhi Police has filed an FIR in connection with ongoing protests against increased hostel fees at JNU. The FIR was registered at the Kishan Garh Police Station under Sections 186 (obstructing a public servant in the discharge of public functions) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code.

JNU Students Paint "Messages" For Vice Chancellor In Administration Block

Students staging a protest in the JNU painted various messages for vice-chancellor Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar inside the administration block of the university on Wednesday as they barged inside the building to talk to him about the hostel fee-hike. By evening, fee-hike saw a-partial-rollback and the JNU-administration said clauses in the Draft Hostel Manual pertaining to the dress code and curfew timings were also removed.
