Amid rift in MP Congress, Scindia to meet Sonia Gandhi on Thursday

Congress-Party interim President Sonia Gandhi will meet party General-Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday on the sidelines of the meeting of all the general secretaries, state in-charges and state chiefs called on to discuss the plans for the 150th-birth-anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, party leaders said. Kamal Nath had met Sonia Gandhi on Saturday evening and said that he had a discussion over the state issue.

Case against BJP leader for mocking Kamal Nath, Jyotiraditya Scindia

The Indore Police have registered a case against BJP state-unit-spokesman Rahul Kothari for allegedly making derogatory comments against Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath and senior-Congress-leader Jyotiraditya Scindia. The case was registered after Congress-Secretary Rakesh Yadav lodged a complaint against Kothari in Vijay-Nagar police-station on Monday. Feared from the main opposition party in the state, the state-government is imposing fine over protest and filing complaints.

Congress-leader Jyotiraditya Scindia joined other party leaders, including former PM Manmohan Singh, in paying tribute to former-PM Rajiv Gandhi on his 75th birth-anniversary, posting a throwback photo of Rajiv Gandhi and his father, Madhavrao Scindia, accompanied by a short poem in Hindi and message that read: "Many wishes to Bharat Ratna Shri Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister, on the occasion of the birth anniversary."
