Telangana Opposition Leaders Detained As KCR Lays Foundation For New Secretariat

Several-opposition-leaders in Telangana, including Ramchander Rao of BJP and Hanumantha Rao of Congress, who were protesting the TRS government's move to construct a new-Secretariat by demolishing the existing buildings were detained. CM K Chandrasekhara Rao laid the foundation stone for the complex earlier in the day. Ramchander Rao and Hanumantha Rao, among other opposition leaders, were detained and not allowed to leave their houses.

KCR meets Jagan Reddy, invites him for inauguration of irrigation project

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao met on Monday and invited his Andhra Pradesh counterpart YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the inauguration of the Kaleswaram irrigation project on June-21. The two chief ministers reportedly also discussed various long-pending issues related to the two-states. The YSR Congress has already taken a positive stand on ''one nation, one election'' issue and supported the Prime Ministers proposal.

Telangana celebrated its fifth Formation Day on Sunday with Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao stating that the state was marching ahead and progressing as a fruitful state. Addressing the main official function held at the Public Gardens in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said Telangana could overcome several hurdles and obstacles during last five years and with incredible resolve moving forward in its journey towards growth.
