Lawyers for Kevin Spacey are asking a judge to allow the actor to skip his arraignment on sexual assault charges in a Massachusetts courthouse next month. Spacey's attorneys have filed a motion asking to excuse his presence at a Jan. 7 hearing in Nantucket District Court, the Boston Globe reported. The reason wasn't disclosed. Prosecutors asked the judge to deny the motion.

A young man who accused Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting him at seaside restaurant near Boston in 2016 filmed part of incident, according to court-filings obtained by AFP. The 59-year-old star of "House of Cards" series, who has won-two-Oscars, is due to be formally charged on January-7 on island of Nantucket with "indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 years of age."
