Pakistan decides to grant consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav as per its law

A day after the International-Court of Justice ruled in favour of India and asked Pakistan to provide consular access to Kulbhushan-Jadhav, Islamabad said that access will be provided according to Pakistani-laws. Pakistan's MOFA further said that Jadhav has been informed of his rights under the Vienna-Convention on Consular-Relations. "Pakistan will grant-consular access to him according-to-Pakistani-laws, for which modalities are being worked-out," it further said.

The verdict of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that held Pakistan guilty of violating the Vienna Convention in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case is positive news, said Kulbhusha's uncle Subhash Jadhav. Speaking to the media after the ICJ verdict on Wednesday, Subhash Jadhav, a retired ACP, said though the verdict is a positive one, the family will be happy when Kulbhushan Jadhav returns home.

Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh who was sentenced to death in Pakistan over terrorism-charges, said that she "fully believed that the International-Court of Justice's verdict in Kulbhushan Jadhav's case will be in India's favour." Sarabjit Singh died in Pakistan prison after some inmates attacked him in 2013. The hearing in Jadhav's case started this year in February at the ICJ-headquarters in The Hague.
