JP Nadda Thanks BJP Workers For Hard Work During Lok Sabha Elections

BJP working president JP Nadda thanked party workers for their hard work, saying it had created an atmosphere in its favour in the recent Lok Sabha elections which was converted into votes. He was addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters after arriving in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday evening. The party leaders are expected to discuss the upcoming bye-elections to 12 assembly seats.

Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan launched into a tirade on "dance bars" and "disrespectable people" during his first public speech in Rampur after the Lok Sabha elections on Sunday. He, however, stopped short of naming anybody. Mr Khan had often picked on actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada, who ditched the Samajwadi Party for the BJP, while campaigning for the Rampur Lok Sabha constituency.

Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Vivek Tankha on Thursday resigned as chairman of the party's legal and human rights cell and urged others to resign from party positions to allow Rahul Gandhi "a free hand" to form his new team. Vivek Tankha's resignation came after Rahul Gandhi reportedly called for accountability within the party after he himself offered to quit as party chief.
