Govt notifies rules for winding up of companies under Companies Act

In a move that will help lessen the burden on the NCLT, the government has notified the rules for winding up of companies under the companies law. The Corporate Affairs Ministry has notified the Companies (Winding-Up) Rules, 2020, which would be effective from April 1. Petitions for winding up of companies are subject to various conditions, including thresholds on turnover and paid-up capital.

AAP has asked the Election Commission to impose a 48-hour campaigning ban on Union Home Minister Amit Shah for allegedly tweeting a "fake" video on Delhi government schools, party leader Sanjay Singh said on Wednesday. AAP leaders Singh and Pankaj Gupta complained to the EC against the circulation of the "fake" videos of Delhi government schools by BJP leaders to "falsely defame" Delhiites.
JD(U) expels Prashant Kishor and Pavan Varma

JD(U) on Wednesday expelled its vice president Prashant Kishor and general secretary, Pavan Varma, from the party, saying their conduct in the recent past has made it clear that they don't want to abide by the party's discipline. Both leaders have been critical of the party president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his support to the CAA and the NPR.
