Government Will Not Share Extradition Details Of Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has refused to share details on the extradition of fugitive businessmen Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi, citing an RTI clause that bars disclosure of information which would "impede the process of prosecution of offenders". In a reply to an RTI query, it said requests for extradition of Mallya and Modi have been sent to the UK government.

Anti-Satellite Missile Test Not Directed At Any Country: Foreign Ministry

India "successfully" carried out an anti-satellite missile test to verify its capability to safeguard space assets and it was not directed against any country, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said. The country has no intentions of entering into an arms race in outer space and it has been maintaining that space must be used only for peaceful purposes, it added.

India Issues Demarche To US Embassy On Detention Of Indian Students

India has issued a demarche to American Embassy in New Delhi, expressing its concern over the detention of Indian students in the US, and sought immediate consular access to them. The MEA said India continues to closely monitor and take proactive measures to address the situation arising-out of detention of several Indian students in connection with their enrollment in "fraudulent university in the US".
