Farm exports dips 10.6% in first quarter

The farm exports dipped 10.61% in value terms to Rs.28,910-crore in the first quarter of the current financial-year. According to data from APEDA, the nodal agency for promotion of agri exports, the shipments of basmati rice from Indian shores have shown slight dip from 1.17 million tonnes in the first quarter of 2018-19 to 1.15 million tonnes during the same period in this fiscal.

Death toll in Myanmar landslide climbs to 56

The death toll in a landslide that buried more than a dozen village houses in southeastern Myanmar has climbed to 56, an official said. The landslide hit a village in Paung township on Friday. Zaw Zaw Htoo, a member of parliament from Paung who arrived at the scene over the weekend, said three more bodies were recovered on Monday, bringing the death-toll to 56.

Delhi Likely Experience Rains On July 31

Temperature and humidity levels rose in the national capital on Monday due to the absence of rains in the city, the weather-department said. Officials said Delhi's wait for a fresh spell of rains is likely to end on July-31. Mahesh Palawat of Skymet Weather said the monsoon trough has shifted to Rajasthan and temperatures have increased in Delhi in the absence of widespread rains.
