American filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, best known for his films such as Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler and Black-Swan, loves to travel when he is not obsessing about cinema and India is a country that he has often crisscrossed through. The celebrated director, who held a masterclass at ongoing MAMI Mumbai Film Festival last evening, enjoys the anonymity that country offers to him as-a-backpacker.
Study Reveals There is Mother-child Communication Among Plants

Turns out, there is mother-child communication in plants. An international team led by the Freiburg plant biologist Prof. Dr. Thomas Laux has shown that mother plants guide the development of their embryos using the hormone auxin. When embryos develop inside their mother, their well-being depends on the nurture provided by the maternal tissue. Mutations in the maternal tissue may result in defective embryo development.
