He is only man ever to have scaled K2 three-times, but Fazal Ali's achievements have gone largely unrecognised, like those of many of his fellow porters who risk life and limb on Pakistan's highest-peaks. As-one-of few elite porters in country specialising in high-altitude expeditions, 40-year-old has spent nearly two decades on Pakistan's deadliest slopes plotting routes, lugging kit and cooking for paying clients.

Students who scaled Mount Everest meet PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met a group of 10 tribal students from Maharashtra, five of whom had successfully scaled the Mount Everest in May. The students shared their experiences during the training and ascent of the world's highest peak. Modi exhorted them to take up a sport and pursue it regularly. He felicitated all the members of the group.

Maharashtra To Give Students Who Climbed Mount Everest Rs.25 Lakh Each

The Maharashtra government has announced a reward of Rs. 25 lakh each to the state's five tribal students who successfully scaled the world's highest peak Mount Everest earlier this month. The other five students, who could not complete the entire trek, would be rewarded with Rs. 10 lakh, state finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said today.
