63 moons' assets can't be attached over NSEL scam: Bombay HC

In a major setback to the Mumbai Police and thousands of investors, the Bombay HC has held that NSEL is not a financial establishment under the purview of the MPID Act, 1999. Consequently, the HC ordered the state government to lift the attachment of moveable and immoveable properties of 63 moons, the promoter of the now defunct commodity spot exchange.

In a major boost to the investigation against underworld dons Chota Shakeel and Dawood Ibrahim, the Mumbai-Police arrested Afroz Wadariya also known as Ahmed Raza, officials said. Senior Mumbai-Police-officials told IANS that Afroz Wadariya, who was a close aide of Chota Shakeel and used to handle the hawala transactions for them was arrested on Tuesday on the basis of LOC notice issued against him.
Mumbai Woman Attacked With Sharp Weapon, Dies

A 20-year-old woman died after being attacked with a-sharp-weapon by an unidentified person in Ghatkopar's Narayan Nagar in Mumbai on Sunday morning. The woman has been identified as Meenakshi Brijesh Chaurasia. The woman was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but doctors declared her dead on arrival. According to initial-probe, victim was going to meet her relatives when she was attacked by the person.
