Google bets big with several 'India first' features

From alerting Google-Maps users when their vehicle goes off-route to partnering with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for the "Loo Review" campaign, the bullish search engine giant has had a history of building India-first features for the world's second-largest population. India also has the second-biggest digital market and the Internet population of over 500-million is expected to touch 650 million by 2020.

Banning cryptocurrencies in India not the solution: Nasscom

Industry body Nasscom (National Association of Software and Services Companies) has opposed the recent proposal for banning cryptocurrencies in India, saying it is "not a solution". "Nasscom believes that the recent proposal of the Inter-ministerial Committee of the government to ban all cryptocurrencies barring those that are backed by the government, is not the most constructive measure," the industry body said in a statement.

Indian IT and ITeS exports may clock 8 to 10% growth during the current fiscal a-senior-official of ESC, a body under the Department of Commerce said. Executive Director of ESC, D K Sareen also said export of electronic hardware may also witness positive growth at about 7 to 8% on the back-of-newer avenues such as Solar power electronics, UPS systems and electronic energy meters.
