CBI special court summons Hooda, Vohra in National Herald case

A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court on Wednesday summoned former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and senior Congress leader Motilal Vohra in the Associated Journals Limited (AJL) land case. AJL is the publisher of National Herald, a newspaper closely associated with the Congress party. The development comes after the court scrutinised the CBI chargesheet that was submitted on December 1.
National Herald case: ED attaches plot in Panchkula for publisher

The ED has attached a plot of land in Haryana's Panchkula allotted to AJL, accusing the company of having acquired it "fraudulently". In its statement, ED has claimed that Haryana government's Legal Remembrance and "officers of HUDA and TCP (Town and Country Planning) who were dealing with the matter also advised the then CM" against the allotment and opined that the plot be "re-advertised".
