Probe Agency Freezes Properties Worth Rs 1.92 Crore Of Karnataka Engineer

The ED has frozen properties worth Rs. 1.92 crore of a Karnataka executive engineer under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The ED said it initiated investigation under the act against L Raghu, an-executive-engineer in national highways, based on an FIR and charge sheet filed by Karnataka Lokayukta, it stated. Mr Raghu had allegedly acquired disproportionate assets from 1987 to 2012, a statement said.
Construction on 150 NH projects yet to kick off

Construction work is yet to commence on atleast 150 NH projects, covering over 5,000 km, which were awarded during the last fiscal due to several reasons, including non-availability of land, and private developers taking time to tie-up funds and mobilise men. Nearly two thirds of them were bid out under the engineering, procurement and construction mode where the Centre bears the cost of construction.
