New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that her government was not aware of any intelligence suggesting that a devastating attack on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka was in retaliation for deadly shootings on a mosques in Christchurch. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told a news conference investigators were making progress in identifying the perpetrators and believed there could be some links to ISIS.

"So, so sorry this isn't us," read an emotional message, written on a card by a citizen to show solidarity with the victims of the attack. "Kia Kaha" said many messages, a phrase in the Te Reo language of New Zealand, meaning "stay strong".
