Sensex ends 62 pts higher, RIL rebounds over 3%

Equity benchmark Sensex ended 62 points higher after a volatile session on Wednesday as risk sentiment remained subdued amid rising coronavirus cases in the country. Despite rebounding over 386 points during the day, the 30-share index pared most gains to settle 62.45 points or 0.18% higher at 35,697.40. On similar lines, the broader NSE Nifty closed 6.95 points or 0.07% up at 10,458.40.

This week Indian-market was impacted due to low-carry-forward in monthly F&O expiry as a result of global selling over fears that coronavirus has turned in to an-international-problem given the high-number of cases reported in many parts of the world. Till last-week, the market was of the view that COVID-19 would have minimal-impact on the global-economy as the situation was largely curtailed in China.

Coronavirus fear tanks Sensex over 1,100 points, Nifty 335

The Indian stocks market crashed early on Friday, with the Sensex falling 1,100 points as coronavirus fears deepened. At 9.50 a.m., the BSE Sensex was trading at 38,597.53, lower by 1,148.13 points or 2.89% from the previous close of 39,745.66. It had opened at the intra-day high of 39,087.47 and has so far touched a low of 38,587.51 points.
