Nirav Modi Likely To Be Given Confirmed Date Of Trial By UK Court Today

Fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, wanted in connection with the nearly USD 2-billion PNB fraud and money laundering case, will appear before a UK court via video-link from a London prison today for a routine "call-over" remand hearing. Nirav, who is fighting extradition to India at Westminster Magistrates' Court, is expected to be given a confirmed date for his trial, expected in May next year.

ED seeks court nod to sell NiMo watches, cars

Fearing decay and value depreciation of articles such as paintings, watches, bags and purses recovered from the Worli home of absconding businessman Nirav Modi, Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought the special court's nod to sell them. ED also wants to sell Modi's eight cars valued at Rs 62 lakh. ED also listed 173 paintings seized by I-T department among properties it wanted to sell.

Ex-PNB Executive Declines To Undergo Polygraph, Narco-Analysis Tests

Gokulnath Shetty, former-banker and key-conspirator in the multi-crore PNB-scam in which diamond merchants Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi are prime accused, on Wednesday declined to give his consent for undergoing polygraph and narco-analysis tests. Earlier this month, the CBI had moved a plea before a special-court, seeking it's permission to conduct polygraph and narco-analysis tests on Shetty, a former-deputy-manager at PNB's Brady-House-branch in Mumbai.
