Weeks after India's criminal enforcement bureau announced a second auction of the prized personal possessions of fugitive jeweler Nirav Modi including his favorite watch and his Rolls Royce Ghost, the United Kingdom High Court recently asked Anil Ambani to deposit $100 million of his personal wealth to partially pay back debt due to a trio of Chinese banks.
PNB fraud case: Nirav Modi remanded until February 27

Fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi, fighting extradition to India on charges over the nearly USD 2-billion PNB fraud and money laundering case, was produced for a regular remand hearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday and further remanded in custody until February-27. The 48-year-old, who has been lodged at Wandsworth Prison in south-west London, appeared via videolink from prison before District Judge David Robinson.
