ONGC Q1 net dips 3.9% on lower oil price, production

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) on August 13 reported a 3.9 per cent decline in net profit for June quarter as it faced a double whammy of falling oil prices and declining production. Net profit during April-June stood at Rs 5,904 crore, 3.9 per cent lower than Rs 6,144 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.
ONGC, its partners likely to exit oil blocks in Sudan

ONGC and its Chinese and Malaysian partners have decided to exit their oil blocks in Sudan, frustrated by the years of reluctance by the Sudanese government to pay for the oil it lifts from these blocks. ONGC has been engaged in an arbitration with Sudan for more than a year to recover its oil dues that have now climbed to $500 million.
Share market update: OMCs trade in the red; GAIL falls over 2%

OMCs were trading in the red in Wednesday's session with their sectoral index on BSE trading lower. Shares of GAIL(India) (down 2.24%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.79%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.75%) and Indraprastha Gas(down 0.53%) were the worst performers in the index. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
