1993 Mumbai blasts: Convict goes missing during parole

Jalees Ansari, a 68-year-old 1993 Mumbai blasts convict, went missing on Thursday morning while being on 21-day parole from Ajmer Central Prison in Rajasthan. Ansari, who is also known as 'Doctor Bomb', is serving a life term and was expected to surrender before the prison authorities on Friday. The missing complaint was filed by Ansari's son.

Vikas Yadav, convicted in the 2002 murder of Nitish Katara, was denied parole by the SC, which said, "Let him complete his 25-year sentence." Vikas Yadav, the son of UP politician DP Yadav, is serving time for the murder of Nitish Katara, 25-year-old business-executive who was dating his sister Bharti Yadav. His cousin Vishal Yadav was also convicted. Their jail term ends in 2027.
Convict In Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Seeks Parole For Son's Marriage

The Madras HC issued notice to prison authorities on a petition filed by Robert Payas, one of the seven convicts serving a life term for former PM Rajiv Gandhi's assassination, seeking a 30-day parole to make arrangements for his son's marriage. The petitioner submitted that he has been in prison since August 16, 1991 and has completed actual imprisonment of more than 28 years.
